History of AEC
Advanced Equipment Company : The Best of the Best!
Although the company officially began earlier, AEC developed some great supplier relationships and really began expanding in the 1960's. Richard Ward left the company and Herman Pfeifer continued the process of building a very good organization. Herman decided he wanted to retire and the company was sold to Larry Abernathy in 1976. Herman sold the company to Larry like a father would his son and continued to work with the company for five more years. The structure and principals set in place by Herman Pfeifer are continued today and are credited for a great deal of our success as we have moved forward.
In 1976 we had just three full time sales representatives including Larry Abernathy. We had great suppliers and set out on a course of growth. We added one sales representative at a time, and now have sixteen employees. The selection of new employees is another reason AEC has been successful. Only the best of the best were selected and that process has provided us with almost all of our people becoming lifelong employees.
The success of AEC has been selecting only quality products to provide as solutions for our customers and the most qualified people in our industry to make it happen. Today AEC is the premier Material Handling Solutions provider in North and South Carolina and is nationally respected as one of the best of the best.
